Kismet Kittens Persian Kittens for Sale & New
Updates:
All cats use their tongue and paws to groom
themselves, by nature cat's are very clean animals. While
kitten's are much like a children, they can have accidents and
they are just learning to clean themselves, with age come
cleanliness..
You don't necessarily need to have your
kitten professional groomed if you are able to bathe your new
kitten and get him/her use to you being their groomer, so to
speak!
Being able to bathe your new kitten you will
find to be a rewarding experience and feel pride when other's compliment
your kitten's beauty.
Start from the Inside:
All cat's can experience hairball's but there
are ways to help minimize and avoid your kitten getting
hairball's. We recommend daily brushing on all the long hair
Persians that we sell. Also putting your kitten
on a hairball control formula food supplement is beneficial to you
both. It will help minimize or can totally stop your Persian
from ejecting fur balls all over the home. We rarely ever find fur balls because
of the food we feed our Persians.
Blue Buffalo makes a wonderful foods that
helps a lot with hairball control. You will want to keep your
kitten on the food she/he has been eating, to switch their food
will most certainly cause diarrhea. If you have your mind set on switching
foods, do so gradually to avoid upsetting their tummy. We use and highly
recommend Blue Buffalo Wilderness Formula
which has the following key benefits to your growing
kitten:
*High-quality protein from delicious de-boned chicken
helps build strong muscles.
*DHA, an essential fatty acid found in mother’s milk,
helps promote cognitive development.
*Includes taurine, an essential amino acid that
kittens require to help maintain heart and eye health.
*An optimal blend of calcium, phosphorus and essential
vitamins helps maintain healthy bone growth.
*Urinary Tract Health: Cranberries and essential
vitamins help to keep the urinary tract functioning
properly.
*Gluten Free
UPDATES AND TIPS ON GROOMING YOUR NEW
KITTEN:
*Here at Kismet Kittens in addition to
feeding our kittens the very best (we do not get a discount
from Blue Buffalo they do not offer breeder's
discount, so the retail price you pay is the same as what we pay). However we
are huge fans of Blue Buffalo and must point out that aside
from all the healthy benefits your kitten will derive from
being on a high quality food such as Blue Buffalo and
particularly the darker kibbles in the Wilderness Formula are
antioxidants which is good for a growing kitten plus is
nutritious enough to feed Wilderness Formula for the life of
your Persian. we also use a variety of Vitamins and Supplements
that we give our Persians which includes:
Nutri-cal, Life's Abundance, NuVet
Plus, Goat's Milk, Excel Vitamin
Paste. Basically, our Persians are spoiled! We feel
strongly that these products offer vital nutrients that help our
Persian thrive and stay healthy and strong. .

Bath Time:
Here is are some basic grooming tips to keep your
Persian smelling fresh and looking like a show kitty
at all times. First wet your kitten thoroughly submerge your
kitten in a warm water tub that has been pre filled to height
of kitten's belly. You will want to work in the shampoo making
a rich thick lather, let it sit on kitten's fur for 5 minutes.
You can reassure your kitten they are the best thing since
sliced bread while you wait. For rinsing I use a plastic large cup to scoop up
water and rinse over the kitten's body until water runs clear.
Rinse paws and tail under faucet. I never submerge a kitten's
face under water, kittens are naturally clean and become more
so as the grow into an adult cat. They are always cleaning
their face after meals so washing a kitten's face does not need
to be a dramatic experience for either of you.
For cleaning your kitten's face you will want
to use 2 bowls of warm water with 2 micro fiber cloths, in one bowl use a drop
of tearless baby shampoo leave the other bowl with just warm water.
After the bath and while the kitten is
wrapped up in a pre warmed towel, hold them in your arms like you would a
newborn baby. You will want to dip one half of one the of cloths (leave other
half dry) into the warm water with the baby shampoo in it, gently wipe
around kitten's face, forehead, nose, chin areas, re-dip if
needed until you are satisfied kitten's face is clean. With the
dry side of the same cloth dip into the plain warm water and gently wipe any
residue off kitten's face wringing out as needed. Lastly take
the all dry cloth and wipe kitten's face absorbing as much of the wetness as you
can.
We use a wonderful whitening shampoo on our White Doll
Face Persian Kittens made by Chris Christensen called
White on White for all our other Persians such
as our Silver Chinchilla and Golden Shaded
Kittens, we use another product by Chris Christensen
called Thick n Thicker. You can purchase these products at:
www.amazon.com.
They have a variety of shampoos and conditioners geared toward
specific treatments and colors of fur.

After Bath:
After you have bathed your kitten you will
want to dry them with a towel as much as you can, we also use a towel warmer so
that right after the bath our Persian's are put into a warm,
cozy towel as cat's will shiver and feel exposed coming right out of the bath.
While your Kitten is wrapped up in the warm towel take them
into your arms because this is a good time to clean eyes, ears and clip the
nails.

Once your kitten is fully dry you will want
to add a fresh clean scent to their fur, we use and love Fresh Scent
it is long lasting and smells very clean, not like perfume. You will
want to mist a little on the back along the spine of your
kitten and a little mist on the belly will make your
kitten smell baby powder clean.
Now comes fluffing up your Persian kitten's
fur and making it plush and shiny. Here is a tip I use and will share with you,
take a wire pet brush (you can buy one at any pet store). Laying the kitten on
it's back with a towel underneath you will want to take an unscented
hypoallergenic baby powder and gently pour a little along the length of you
kitten's belly. Start to brush your kitten's
fur going in opposite direction of growth using short fast but gentle strokes,
this is so that the talc can penetrate into the fur shafts. Next flip
your kitten over and while holding him/her in place pour a
little in the back along the spine of your kitten, repeat steps
for brushing as you did on the belly. You will want to brush your
kitten all over especially around the neck, tail, and behind
ears. Not only does the talc make the kitten's fur fluffy and
shiny it also helps to absorbed oils and dirt when your kitten
is playing on the floor. You can use the powder in between baths to help
maintain a fresh clean looking kitty.
Cleaning your Kittens Ears:
Using a cotton ball and a bowl of warm water you will want to
fold back your kitten's ears and gently wipe away any dirt. You
can go pretty deep with a cotton ball and not damage your
kitten's ear drum. Use as many cotton balls as you need until both ears
are clean. Do Not use a Q Tip Ever, as it will
rupture and damage your kitten's ear. Do not add any chemicals
either, if your kitten has really dirty ears here is a home remedy solution for
cleaning the ears on your pet.
Ear Cleansing Solution:
This solution is great ear cleaner on your pet plus has a
bonus of treating ear mites. You will want to have one part of vinegar and two
parts water to clean the pet's ears using a cotton ball.If your
kitten has any abrasions on the ear or skin lesions, open
wounds or severe inflammation. Instead, a solution of almond oil mixed with
Vitamin E should be used, make sure to be very gentle.

Cleaning your Kittens Eyes:
Here is an easy way to clean your new kitten's eyes without
damaging or hurting the kitten. Using a bowl of warm water
moisten a soft cloth with warm water, we use a micro-fiber cloth due to how soft
it is and how gentle it is on the kitten's fragile eye. Gently
wipe around the outer edges of kitten's eye. Wring out the
cloth as much as needed. If kitten has any matting or crust on
the eye. If crust is matted, you will want to hold the moist cloth on the eye
for several minutes until the matted crust loosens. Do not rub or put excessive
pressure on the kitten's eye. While some
kitten's may tolerate it, if your Persian began's to
cry or becomes agitated, you can try to have someone hold the
kitten while you are cleaning the eye but if your
kitten continues to fight you, discontinue cleaning the
eyes.
If there is any sign of mucus or inflammation do not attempt
to clean the kitten's eyes, instead take them to a veterinarian
as soon as possible.

Kitten Updates and New Price Structures for Kismet
Kittens:
We announced recently that here at Kismet
Kittens we are expecting some exquisite new litters in
the next few weeks. Below is a list of the Persian Kittens we
will have coming up for adoption.
Traditional White Doll Face Persian
Kittens
Silver Chinchilla Shaded Persian
Kittens
Golden Shaded Persian Kittens
Ready to go date varies from kitten
to kitten. Sometimes we hold onto kittens
until they are 10 to 12 weeks old, others are ready at 8 weeks. So the ready to
go date is an educated guess. We have gotten a lot of emails and texts asking
for photos of the newest kittens. We do not post photos of our
newest Persian babies until they are about 4 weeks old, it is
impossible to tell quality of newborns and nor would we bother the
Queen when she is nursing her babies. When the kittens
are 4 weeks old we start hand feeding them Goat's Milk with
supplements mixed in to help boost their immune system and help them to thrive
and become beautiful healthy Persian Kittens, this also allows
the Queen's to have a break in between feedings.
Below are photos of some of our recently sold Persian
Kittens this will give you an idea of what to expect as far the quality
of our Persian kittens. Reserving
Early has it's advantages and is highly recommended. To see our
Available Kittens on our web site and for all information

New Price Structures:
Here at Kismet Kittens we are now offering
two price structures. Let me explain, it is common practice of top
breeders not to give buyer's the CFA blue slip papers
until the buyer has the purchased kitten altered and provides
proof of spay/neuter via a spay/neuter
agreement which is a standard in any sale of a Persian
kitten of the quality that we sell. This protects the breeder's
lineage of Persians from being bred without permission
and without the buyer paying for breeding rights.
Many breeders are banning together to
stop backyard breeder's from producing
Persians by not giving the CFA registration
papers and actively suing anyone found to be breeding a Persian
sold to them as a Pet Only. Buyer's receive a state health
certificate along with record of the vaccines the kitten has
been given. Many breeders offer a 1 year
Health Guarantee on the kitten for any
infectious deadly diseases. This is standard on any sale of a high end
Persian Kittens. Buyers will sign a Pet Only Contract
which both the breeder and buyer signs and each
retains a copy of. This contract outlines all health guarantees and any legal
issues that could arise. Pet Only means just that, each
contract is for the sale of one Persian Kitten only,
each kitten will have it's own contract, and a Pet Only
Contract sale does not include breeding
rights. Buyer's caught breeding the
Persian Kitten later on down the road are open to costly legal
action from the breeder.
While we endorse the Pet Only Contract with
the Spay/Neuter Clause, we now will offer our buyer's two
prices the first will be for the standard Pet Only CFA
Register-able with Contract this means what I just
explained above. You will receive your CFA Blue
Slip to register your new kitten when proof of
altering has been mailed to me when kitten is 6 months old is
the typical age for altering. I will then in turn promptly mail you your
Blue Slip paper for registering your Persian kitten
with the CFA. Our next price is called CFA
Express what this means is for a higher price usually $200.00
to $400.00 more depending on the quality of the
kitten. At time of purchase you will receive your blue
slip papers. You will still have to show proof of altering when the
kitten is 6 months old, otherwise the Health
Guarantee is null and void, this will hopefully turn any buyer's
seeking to breed our Persians without our permission or a
Breeding Rights Contract and without paying for
breeding rights to seek a kitten elsewhere. We
will pursue any legal action necessary if we find out a buyer is
breeding our line of Persians without being
approved by us for Breeding Rights.
Now back to the new price structures the reason we decided to
offer this new alternative is because we have heard soo many complaints from
buyer's regarding other breeder's not telling them they would
not be receiving the CFA blue slip at time of purchase, only
after they have left or had the kitten shipped did they find
out. We do not want to mislead our buyers and wanted to offer an additional
option so that those who really want the CFA blue slip can now have that option.
For instance is a kitten is priced at
$1,250.00 as Pet Only CFA Reg with
Contract that means you are paying for the kitten and
will receive the CFA blue slip upon proof of
altering, now under that price you will see a price of for example
$1,850.00 which is option for Pet Only CFA Express with
Contract which means at pickup or when kitten is
shipped you will receive the CFA blue slip there is no waiting
to register your new Persian. However you will still be under
contract with a spay/neuter agreement for
having the kitten altered when the kitten is 6
months old. Failure to do so will null and void the Health
Guarantee.
