Breeding Persians for a living

As a breeder I have to say honestly, I truly enjoy what I do. Make no mistake breeding for a living or even on a small scale is hard work. I knew when I got into this business that it would be a lot of work but I figured the rewards would be more than worth it. There are many advantages to being a breeder especially a breeder of Persian kittens.
I enjoy the whole process of watching babies being born, it is such a beautiful experience. Every time one of my Queens gives birth, I try to be right there with her and while some Queens could care less, others love when I baby them, cooing and rubbing their bellies. I dampen and warm towels in between each birth to soothe and help ease the Queen during labor. Although not all Queens want attention, I have one who wants to be left alone and does not want anyone touching her babies and she is one of my top Queens and an excellent mother to her babies Sexy Sadie as we so named her will take on other's kittens as her own.
She is my beautiful Silver Chinchilla Shaded Persian with green eyes. I have to say her babies sell quickly. They are the most affectionate kittens out of all that are born here at Kismet Kittens.
My Queen Star is about to have a litter and she is a funny cat, she will actually come alert me right before she goes into labor. She is a stunning White Doll Face Persian with green eyes.
All my Persians carry green, blue as well as the odd eye gene. She produces some stunning kittens. Her last litter was photographed for a book.
The miracle of watching a life being born is such a joy there is nothing that can compete nor compare to it.
That is the most rewarding aspect of breeding.

Don't get me wrong there are also draw backs to breeding Persians. If you have really nice stuff you can kiss that goodbye. Every year we are replacing furniture due to the cats using our living room for a scratching post even when they have several of their own to use. Let's not forget cleaning litter boxes, feeding, bathing these are all things most people don't realize that go into breeding on a professional level.
A professional breeder has to separate and select breed their Persian cats which means building separate quarters to house and maintain aside from the main Cattery and the Nursery.
We breed our Queens once every nine months.
There are also vet bills, toys, kitty condos, flea meds, grooming supplies. A good food is vital to the overall health and well being of each Persian. Vitamins and supplements which must be given daily, needless to say the costs add up quickly.
We get requests at least a dozen times a year from other breeders, people wanting to breed and people who use to breed wanting to start back. While we offer breeding rights, we are very selective. There are some genuine folks out there that love breeding and I say more power to you however, research before you take the plunge because while playing with kittens all day long might seem like fun to you these are also living creatures that require proper care and that is where the hard work part comes in.
While it takes spending lots of time socializing new kittens and getting them ready for their forever homes there are also the adult breeding cats that need time, love and attention as well. My typical day generally starts at 4 am. and doesn't end until nightfall. In order to produce healthy, affectionate, high end Persians that is the sacrifice I as a breeder chose to make.
While my prices are exceptionally reasonable, if I were to put a dollar amount into all the work and financial cost it takes a breeder like myself because I can only speak for me ( other breeders hire people to do the dirty work ) my prices are actually low.
Every once in awhile I'll get an email or FB post from some ignorant soul who thinks I should just give them away and to quote this one jack-hole "like everybody else does".
I unleashed on her with my own brand of crazy, I told her "since she feels that I should just give my Persian kittens away because after all everyone does it and seeing how she's such a giving person then she should give me her home, car and all her jewelry".
Even the SPCA charges for their animals how rude was she to insult what I do professionally and I'm sure she thought if she throws it out there maybe just maybe she will get a free Persian.
While I generally ignore ignorants like her she kept making passive aggressive remarks every time I would post a photo, needless to say that shut her up.
Working with the public I have learned one thing and that is for as many wonderful folks there are out there that I have personally met, there is also a whole lot of crazy too.
I have made it a rule not to sell breeding rights locally, that is to anyone living in Florida.
And most of my kittens I ship out of state, I don't allow potential buyers in my home to look I only allow for pick up and only after a kitten has been reserved. I do offer to send additional photos and videos to interested buyers.

There are too many backyard breeders here and they give professional breeders a bad name.
Plus we don't want the lineage of our Persians all over the place. It takes a sincere person to breed professionally because it is a lot of work, but I love what I do and I enjoy it, which makes it much easier.

New litters coming:
We just had a litter of Golden Shaded kittens they will be ready to go April 20, 2013

We will be announcing the new litters as they are born.

Troll A holes on Facebook

It's unbelievable to me that some people spend all their time spreading negativity with their self entitled, ignorant, self serving, uneducated remarks. On my Facebook business page I'll block anyone who makes remarks that are derogatory and self-righteous in nature. However when people start attacking the other posters on my thread I will report them to Facebook. My FB page is an extension of my business it is not a forum for self-righteous A holes to leave little catty remarks about how I'm an awful person for breeding Persians, educate yourself first before you start flapping your jaws.
These kinds of people I find like to go around posting about how charitable and wonderful they are. Then when you go on their Facebook page and they have photos of their purebred animals and other things that contradict everything they say, hypocrites!
A real charitable person doesn't have to go around bragging all over the Internet to everyone about how great they are, a real charitable person doesn't feel the need insult others to boost their own self worth. For the record I do many, many charitable things on a monthly basis the difference is I don't feel need to go around insulting others and i don't go around boasting about how wonderful I am. I also love the ones that make up a new ID because I previously blocked them and then post something negative and then disables their ID hoping that I won't be able to remove the post, which I am able to do as it is after all my page then, hoping I will not be able to figure out who they are which they're soo very transparent, real cowards. When they get called out they resort to having their FB friends post. Anyone that knows me know how well my animals are cared for. It isn't my livelihood, I love Persians and enjoy breeding, I do not have to work like other breeders, I choose to breed.
On a positive note my Golden Shaded Queen gave birth yesterday to a litter of babies.
There are 3 available. I try to make owning a high end Persian affordable for everyone.
Early Reserve saves you money. It is first reserved, first served.

Grooming Tips and Re-post of New Price Structure

Kismet Kittens Persian Kittens for Sale & New Updates:

All cats use their tongue and paws to groom themselves, by nature cat's are very clean animals. While kitten's are much like a children, they can have accidents and they are just learning to clean themselves, with age come cleanliness..

You don't necessarily need to have your kitten professional groomed if you are able to bathe your new kitten and get him/her use to you being their groomer, so to speak!

Being able to bathe your new kitten you will find to be a rewarding experience and feel pride when other's compliment your kitten's beauty.

Start from the Inside:

All cat's can experience hairball's but there are ways to help minimize and avoid your kitten getting hairball's. We recommend daily brushing on all the long hair Persians that we sell. Also putting your kitten on a hairball control formula food supplement is beneficial to you both. It will help minimize or can totally stop your Persian from ejecting fur balls all over the home. We rarely ever find fur balls because of the food we feed our Persians.

Blue Buffalo makes a wonderful foods that helps a lot with hairball control. You will want to keep your kitten on the food she/he has been eating, to switch their food will most certainly cause diarrhea. If you have your mind set on switching foods, do so gradually to avoid upsetting their tummy. We use and highly recommend Blue Buffalo Wilderness Formula which has the following key benefits to your growing kitten:
*High-quality protein from delicious de-boned chicken helps build strong muscles.

*DHA, an essential fatty acid found in mother’s milk, helps promote cognitive development.

*Includes taurine, an essential amino acid that kittens require to help maintain heart and eye health.

*An optimal blend of calcium, phosphorus and essential vitamins helps maintain healthy bone growth.

*Urinary Tract Health: Cranberries and essential vitamins help to keep the urinary tract functioning properly.

*Gluten Free

UPDATES AND TIPS ON GROOMING YOUR NEW KITTEN:

*Here at Kismet Kittens in addition to feeding our kittens the very best (we do not get a discount from Blue Buffalo they do not offer breeder's discount, so the retail price you pay is the same as what we pay). However we are huge fans of Blue Buffalo and must point out that aside from all the healthy benefits your kitten will derive from being on a high quality food such as Blue Buffalo and particularly the darker kibbles in the Wilderness Formula are antioxidants which is good for a growing kitten plus is nutritious enough to feed Wilderness Formula for the life of your Persian. we also use a variety of Vitamins and Supplements that we give our Persians which includes: Nutri-cal, Life's Abundance, NuVet Plus, Goat's Milk, Excel Vitamin Paste. Basically, our Persians are spoiled! We feel strongly that these products offer vital nutrients that help our Persian thrive and stay healthy and strong. .

Bath Time:

Here is are some basic grooming tips to keep your Persian smelling fresh and looking like a show kitty at all times. First wet your kitten thoroughly submerge your kitten in a warm water tub that has been pre filled to height of kitten's belly. You will want to work in the shampoo making a rich thick lather, let it sit on kitten's fur for 5 minutes. You can reassure your kitten they are the best thing since sliced bread while you wait. For rinsing I use a plastic large cup to scoop up water and rinse over the kitten's body until water runs clear. Rinse paws and tail under faucet. I never submerge a kitten's face under water, kittens are naturally clean and become more so as the grow into an adult cat. They are always cleaning their face after meals so washing a kitten's face does not need to be a dramatic experience for either of you.

For cleaning your kitten's face you will want to use 2 bowls of warm water with 2 micro fiber cloths, in one bowl use a drop of tearless baby shampoo leave the other bowl with just warm water.

After the bath and while the kitten is wrapped up in a pre warmed towel, hold them in your arms like you would a newborn baby. You will want to dip one half of one the of cloths (leave other half dry) into the warm water with the baby shampoo in it, gently wipe around kitten's face, forehead, nose, chin areas, re-dip if needed until you are satisfied kitten's face is clean. With the dry side of the same cloth dip into the plain warm water and gently wipe any residue off kitten's face wringing out as needed. Lastly take the all dry cloth and wipe kitten's face absorbing as much of the wetness as you can.

We use a wonderful whitening shampoo on our White Doll Face Persian Kittens made by Chris Christensen called White on White for all our other Persians such as our Silver Chinchilla and Golden Shaded Kittens, we use another product by Chris Christensen called Thick n Thicker. You can purchase these products at: www.amazon.com.

They have a variety of shampoos and conditioners geared toward specific treatments and colors of fur.

After Bath:

After you have bathed your kitten you will want to dry them with a towel as much as you can, we also use a towel warmer so that right after the bath our Persian's are put into a warm, cozy towel as cat's will shiver and feel exposed coming right out of the bath. While your Kitten is wrapped up in the warm towel take them into your arms because this is a good time to clean eyes, ears and clip the nails.
Towel WarmerBaby Powder: Extra Mild

Once your kitten is fully dry you will want to add a fresh clean scent to their fur, we use and love Fresh Scent it is long lasting and smells very clean, not like perfume. You will want to mist a little on the back along the spine of your kitten and a little mist on the belly will make your kitten smell baby powder clean.

Now comes fluffing up your Persian kitten's fur and making it plush and shiny. Here is a tip I use and will share with you, take a wire pet brush (you can buy one at any pet store). Laying the kitten on it's back with a towel underneath you will want to take an unscented hypoallergenic baby powder and gently pour a little along the length of you kitten's belly. Start to brush your kitten's fur going in opposite direction of growth using short fast but gentle strokes, this is so that the talc can penetrate into the fur shafts. Next flip your kitten over and while holding him/her in place pour a little in the back along the spine of your kitten, repeat steps for brushing as you did on the belly. You will want to brush your kitten all over especially around the neck, tail, and behind ears. Not only does the talc make the kitten's fur fluffy and shiny it also helps to absorbed oils and dirt when your kitten is playing on the floor. You can use the powder in between baths to help maintain a fresh clean looking kitty.

Cleaning your Kittens Ears:

Using a cotton ball and a bowl of warm water you will want to fold back your kitten's ears and gently wipe away any dirt. You can go pretty deep with a cotton ball and not damage your kitten's ear drum. Use as many cotton balls as you need until both ears are clean. Do Not use a Q Tip Ever, as it will rupture and damage your kitten's ear. Do not add any chemicals either, if your kitten has really dirty ears here is a home remedy solution for cleaning the ears on your pet.

Ear Cleansing Solution:

This solution is great ear cleaner on your pet plus has a bonus of treating ear mites. You will want to have one part of vinegar and two parts water to clean the pet's ears using a cotton ball.If your kitten has any abrasions on the ear or skin lesions, open wounds or severe inflammation. Instead, a solution of almond oil mixed with Vitamin E should be used, make sure to be very gentle.

Cleaning your Kittens Eyes:

Here is an easy way to clean your new kitten's eyes without damaging or hurting the kitten. Using a bowl of warm water moisten a soft cloth with warm water, we use a micro-fiber cloth due to how soft it is and how gentle it is on the kitten's fragile eye. Gently wipe around the outer edges of kitten's eye. Wring out the cloth as much as needed. If kitten has any matting or crust on the eye. If crust is matted, you will want to hold the moist cloth on the eye for several minutes until the matted crust loosens. Do not rub or put excessive pressure on the kitten's eye. While some kitten's may tolerate it, if your Persian began's to cry or becomes agitated, you can try to have someone hold the kitten while you are cleaning the eye but if your kitten continues to fight you, discontinue cleaning the eyes.

If there is any sign of mucus or inflammation do not attempt to clean the kitten's eyes, instead take them to a veterinarian as soon as possible.

Kitten Updates and New Price Structures for Kismet Kittens:

We announced recently that here at Kismet Kittens we are expecting some exquisite new litters in the next few weeks. Below is a list of the Persian Kittens we will have coming up for adoption.

Traditional White Doll Face Persian Kittens

Silver Chinchilla Shaded Persian Kittens

Golden Shaded Persian Kittens

Ready to go date varies from kitten to kitten. Sometimes we hold onto kittens until they are 10 to 12 weeks old, others are ready at 8 weeks. So the ready to go date is an educated guess. We have gotten a lot of emails and texts asking for photos of the newest kittens. We do not post photos of our newest Persian babies until they are about 4 weeks old, it is impossible to tell quality of newborns and nor would we bother the Queen when she is nursing her babies. When the kittens are 4 weeks old we start hand feeding them Goat's Milk with supplements mixed in to help boost their immune system and help them to thrive and become beautiful healthy Persian Kittens, this also allows the Queen's to have a break in between feedings.

Below are photos of some of our recently sold Persian Kittens this will give you an idea of what to expect as far the quality of our Persian kittens. Reserving Early has it's advantages and is highly recommended. To see our Available Kittens on our web site and for all information please click link below:

New Price Structures:

Here at Kismet Kittens we are now offering two price structures. Let me explain, it is common practice of top breeders not to give buyer's the CFA blue slip papers until the buyer has the purchased kitten altered and provides proof of spay/neuter via a spay/neuter agreement which is a standard in any sale of a Persian kitten of the quality that we sell. This protects the breeder's lineage of Persians from being bred without permission and without the buyer paying for breeding rights.

Many breeders are banning together to stop backyard breeder's from producing Persians by not giving the CFA registration papers and actively suing anyone found to be breeding a Persian sold to them as a Pet Only. Buyer's receive a state health certificate along with record of the vaccines the kitten has been given. Many breeders offer a 1 year Health Guarantee on the kitten for any infectious deadly diseases. This is standard on any sale of a high end Persian Kittens. Buyers will sign a Pet Only Contract which both the breeder and buyer signs and each retains a copy of. This contract outlines all health guarantees and any legal issues that could arise. Pet Only means just that, each contract is for the sale of one Persian Kitten only, each kitten will have it's own contract, and a Pet Only Contract sale does not include breeding rights. Buyer's caught breeding the Persian Kitten later on down the road are open to costly legal action from the breeder.

While we endorse the Pet Only Contract with the Spay/Neuter Clause, we now will offer our buyer's two prices the first will be for the standard Pet Only CFA Register-able with Contract this means what I just explained above. You will receive your CFA Blue Slip to register your new kitten when proof of altering has been mailed to me when kitten is 6 months old is the typical age for altering. I will then in turn promptly mail you your Blue Slip paper for registering your Persian kitten with the CFA. Our next price is called CFA Express what this means is for a higher price usually $200.00 to $400.00 more depending on the quality of the kitten. At time of purchase you will receive your blue slip papers. You will still have to show proof of altering when the kitten is 6 months old, otherwise the Health Guarantee is null and void, this will hopefully turn any buyer's seeking to breed our Persians without our permission or a Breeding Rights Contract and without paying for breeding rights to seek a kitten elsewhere. We will pursue any legal action necessary if we find out a buyer is breeding our line of Persians without being approved by us for Breeding Rights.

Now back to the new price structures the reason we decided to offer this new alternative is because we have heard soo many complaints from buyer's regarding other breeder's not telling them they would not be receiving the CFA blue slip at time of purchase, only after they have left or had the kitten shipped did they find out. We do not want to mislead our buyers and wanted to offer an additional option so that those who really want the CFA blue slip can now have that option. For instance is a kitten is priced at $1,250.00 as Pet Only CFA Reg with Contract that means you are paying for the kitten and will receive the CFA blue slip upon proof of altering, now under that price you will see a price of for example $1,850.00 which is option for Pet Only CFA Express with Contract which means at pickup or when kitten is shipped you will receive the CFA blue slip there is no waiting to register your new Persian. However you will still be under contract with a spay/neuter agreement for having the kitten altered when the kitten is 6 months old. Failure to do so will null and void the Health Guarantee.

to register your new kitten when proof of
altering has been mailed to me when kitten is 6 months old is
the typical age for altering. I will then in turn promptly mail you your
Blue Slip
paper for registering your Persian kitten
with the CFA. Our next price is called CFA
Express
what this means is for a higher price usually $200.00
to $400.00
more depending on the quality of the
kitten. At time of purchase you will receive your blue
slip
papers. You will still have to show proof of altering when the
kitten is 6 months old, otherwise the Health
Guarantee
is null and void, this will hopefully turn any buyer's
seeking to breed our Persians without our permission or a
Breeding Rights Contract and without paying for
breeding rights to seek a kitten elsewhere. We
will pursue any legal action necessary if we find out a buyer is
breeding our line of Persians without being
approved by us for Breeding Rights.

Now back to the new price structures the reason we decided to
offer this new alternative is because we have heard soo many complaints from
buyer's regarding other breeder's not telling them they would
not be receiving the CFA blue slip at time of purchase, only
after they have left or had the kitten shipped did they find
out. We do not want to mislead our buyers and wanted to offer an additional
option so that those who really want the CFA blue slip can now have that option.
For instance is a kitten is priced at
$1,250.00
as Pet Only CFA Reg with
Contract
that means you are paying for the kitten and
will receive the CFA blue slip upon proof of
altering, now under that price you will see a price of for example
$1,850.00 which is option for Pet Only CFA Express with
Contract
which means at pickup or when kitten is
shipped you will receive the CFA blue slip there is no waiting
to register your new Persian. However you will still be under
contract with a spay/neuter agreement for
having the kitten altered when the kitten is 6
months old. Failure to do so will null and void the Health
Guarantee
.

Etiquette for Breeders and Buyers:

Etiquette for Breeders and Buyers:

I have a few things to say regarding reserving a Persian Kitten from a breeder and my perspective about buying my Persians when I first started out. So I will start with the latter first.

As a buyer what you should expect from a breeder, is a knowledgeable professional pleasant experience. When I first started buying my breeding Persians I decided to buy them as kittens, I wanted to make sure that I personally had a hand in the personalities of my future Parents of the Persian kittens I would be selling, as kittens tend to get their personalities from their parents and also how well the breeder socializes them.

When I started looking for my future breeding Persians, I contacted several well known breeders, all got back to me in a timely manner. Some even said if I ever needed help or had any questions to email them. Well, I had some questions and emailed the closest breeder to me who also is still in business to this day, as this breeder said I could ask their advice. Well needless to say this breeder never returned an email after she got my money. Incredibly rude? You bet,

I won't mention names. I bought many kittens from this breeder and while they are all beautiful, I felt this breeder is only in it for the money.

Moving on, I also bought several Persians from an out of state breeder and found her kittens to be the most loving, social and super affectionate. I emailed her to tell her my opinion and she thanked me and said she spends a lot of time with her babies, this was obvious in the way that her kittens acted and I thought to myself these are the type of Persian kittens I wanted to raise. Any time I had a question she replied and was very helpful with many questions I had. I also bought many books on breeding as an avid reader this worked out well for me, I learned a lot and made a decision I would raise the bar when it came to how I treated my buyers. Many of the kittens I bought were shipped and back then I did not know you could have a personal shipper sit on the plane and deliver the kitten to you at the airport. At first I started my cattery I began breeding slowly, building it up and mainly sold only locally. In the last 2 yrs. I decided to spread my wings and go full steam ahead. My main concern was I did not want my Persian kittens shipped in a crate because they would be scared and alone. I came across a website that offers shipping for animals and just about anything else you can imagine. My shipper Louann is quite remarkable. I have always gotten along well with New Yorkers and she is based out of NY. She contacted me after I placed an ad and as typical for most New Yorker's she talks fast, gets to the point and followed through with her promises and I personally found her to exceed my expectations. I will only use her and her husband for transporting my Persians out of state.

Ok, so when my new kittens were shipped to me I noticed they were all scared and in a crate with just the bare essentials, I felt badly for them and decided I would never put my kittens through that. I also decided I would send my Persians to their new homes with an array of toys and other gifts all put together in a nice bag with a personal thank you note written to my buyers, this shows thoughtfulness, care and gratitude to the customers as well as concern for the kittens I sold, something I never got when I bought my Persians.

I also decided I would never mislead or lie to my customers and always give them an honest opinion about a particular Persian kitten they were interested in. If I felt a kitten was not going to mesh ( personality wise ) with them, I would tell them so. I also decided I would not join the fad and make up stupid names for my Persians like Teacup, Rug Hugger, Micro Mini etc.

Do I lose sales because of this? Nope, and if someone doesn't want to buy a Persian kitten from me because I refuse to breed runt to runt which is after all what produces the so called Teacup Persian, well then I do not want these people as buyers any ways. Some people are misinformed about Teacup Persians and that I can understand, while others just want a tiny little kitten ( which btw does not exist and never will ) and these are the people I do not care to ever sell to. I look at it like this, if you knowingly after talking to me or even reading up information about the so called Teacup Persian trust me the info is all over the Internet about how these Persians do not exist.

You can even call the CFA and they will tell you the same thing. You can go to their website and contact them at www.cfa.org look under breeds of Persians, if you do not see TEACUP or any other made up name breeders use to lure you into buying one of their Persians for an outrageous price, then it does not exist,

If someone is hell bent on buying a runt that was bred from two runt parents, then these are the people I wish to avoid selling to. By buying from a breeder who advertises Teacup Persian kittens is promoting unscrupulous breeders who are charging outrageous amounts of money, this tells me the intelligence level and character of these buyers and breeders and that is definitely not the negative energy I want in my life. Other buyers like I stated are just misinformed. By placing my website under Teacup Persians in the keyword search I hope that the information on my website www.kismetkittens.org educates my buyers and maybe helps to change their opinion about wanting a Teacup Persian because truly they are paying more for a kitten bred to be very small and trust me these kittens have health issues inherited from their parents and they do not thrive and definitely do not live a normal life span of a healthy normal Persian kitten. The major difference with the Ex Small Persian Kittens we sell is that both parents are normal size for their breed of Persian. The average weight of one of our Persians fully grown can weight up to 12 lbs.for a male which in itself is small for a cat, the smallest is 5 to 6 lbs generally females weigh less. So here is what you need to ask the breeder before you buy: 1) What is the average weight of your Persians fully grown 2) Do you in-breed ( many catteries will inbreed to produce the perfect Persian kitten not only is this unhealthy it is illegal in Europe ). 3) What type of food and vitamins do you feed your Persian kittens, breeders that truly care about their animals will feed them a good food rich in protein and have them on vitamins as well.

We use Blue Buffalo Wilderness Dry and while they are babies and just starting to eat we mix it with Fancy Feast Wet we also use a variety of vitamins and supplements to help our babies thrive and stay healthy some of the brands we use are Life Abundance, NuVet Plus, Nutri Cal, Collate, and a variety of Holistic products. 4) What is the life span of the Persian kittens you sell, keep in mind when you buy a kitten it becomes your responsibility to care for the well being of the Persian kitten and by keeping them up to date on vaccines and feeding your Persian a premium food, not allowing it outdoors as well as altering the Persian all helps to extend the life span of the pet. 5) Is your cattery PKD negative many breeders will offer to do PKD testing on a kitten for an interested buyer as long as that buyer is willing to pay for the test and wait for results. All our breeding Persians are PKD negative which produces PKD negative kittens.

Now let's discuss etiquette of buying from a breeder, there are things you should never say to a breeder because they will just block you and mark you as someone not to sell to. I get emails all the time from what I refer to a time wasters one person who still emails me and her email ends up in my spam folder because here is what her email says: " Do you have any kittens available? Get back to me ASAP". I typically will not respond to these type of emails simply because these kind of people are not serious buyers. Also telling a breeder who's normal price range for a kitten is way over what you can afford is also guaranteed to get you on the Do Not Respond List. I have had people who have actually been on my website and then proceed to email me to complain about my prices and to tell me they have a $400.00 budget. Incredibly rude and truly shows lack of class. It is hard work breeding Persians and it also cost us a lot of money in order to provide our buyers with a healthy, well socialized kitten, we are not in the breeding business to give our Persians away. Even the SPCA charges money for their cats. Nor are we over priced the most one of our exquisite Persian kittens can go for is $2,500.00 I have seen other breeders selling these same Persians for $4,500.00 and up. We are not greedy nor do we try to scam our buyers by making up slang names for our Persians, we show our customers the same respect we would want if the shoes were reversed. Another way to ensure a breeder will not sell to you is to ask for tons of pictures and videos of all the kittens they have currently for sale. This says to the breeder that you are either not serious or confused about what you are looking for. A serious buyer will pick up the phone to discuss what their needs and lifestyle are and a breeder can be vital in helping you to choose the Persian that is right for you.
